Pray for Port Harcourt 🙏

Heavy rainfall has caused widespread flooding in several parts of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Floodwater has entered homes, covered roads and submerged vehicles in affected communities, disrupting movement and daily activities.

Areas badly affected include Rukpokwu, Eneka, Uzuoba, parts of Aba Expressway, Peter Odili Road and NTA Road, among others.

Residents in some locations are reportedly struggling to move around as the water continues to rise.

The flooding has also affected transportation, with motorists facing difficulty navigating some roads.

Residents have described the situation as one of the most severe flooding incidents seen in the city in recent years. Naija-News24

African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates for the 2027 elections have taken their campaign consultations to Ward 6 in community, , Khana Local Government Area of State.

The candidate for Constituency 1 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Bright Tsaro Nuleee, joined the party’s candidate for Gokana/Khana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dumka Gbaraba, for the visit.

ADC candidates visit Kaani monarch, seek blessings ahead of nationwide campaign

KANNI, OGONI — African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates in State have taken their grassroots consultation to Ward 6 in community, .

The ADC candidate for Khana Constituency 1 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Bright Tsaro Nuleee, and the party’s candidate for /Khana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dumka Gbarabe, led the visit.

The candidates met with community stakeholders and residents during the consultation.

They also visited the palace of His Highness, Mene G.B. Apere, Mene Bua Kaani, to seek his blessings and prayers.

The candidates further requested the monarch’s support for peaceful access to the community when they return for their campaign activities.

The visit forms part of the candidates’ ongoing ward-to-ward consultations as they engage traditional rulers, community leaders and residents ahead of the elections.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for the candidates to strengthen their engagement with the people of Kaani and hear issues from the grassroots. Naija-News24

A passenger has died after reportedly jumping from a moving commercial bus that crashed into a median pole in Lagos.

The accident occurred around Ogunlana Junction, inward Ojuelegba, in the Fallout area of Surulere. The Volkswagen commercial bus reportedly veered off course before hitting the median pole.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said preliminary reports indicated that the driver was allegedly drunk. Naija-News24

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, a South-West coordinator of the women’s wing of the , over an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.

spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed the arrest to TheCable on Saturday. According to him, Tejuosho was taken into custody on September 8, 2026. “She is in our custody,” Oyewale said.

Her arrest follows an earlier declaration by the anti-graft agency, which listed her as wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged fraud. Naija-News24
