But here are the steps you must take to secure your first job:

1. Fill out your profile completely

Many freelancers create an Upwork profile halfway and begin sending proposals immediately.

Not knowing that they must fill their Upwork profile complete.

This is because with a profile that is 50% complete you can get your account approved.

But wait, don’t be too quick to get a job.

Make sure your profile is complete before you start applying for jobs.

2. Only apply for jobs for which you are qualified.

Applying for jobs that you don't qualify for wastes your time and connects, and sets you up for disappointment.

If you're new to Upwork, one thing you can do to speed up the process of landing a job is to just apply for jobs that you're qualified for.
