NURTW Udenu Branch, Enugu State, Endorses Ikeje for Senate, Calls for Unity and Credible Process
Obollo Afor, Enugu State June 18, 2026 The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Udenu Branch, Enugu State, has formally endorsed Ikeje as its preferred candidate to produce the next Senator for Enugu North.
Speaking to journalists in his office in Obollo Afor, Branch Chairman Omemma Kingsley said the decision aligns with the union’s commitment to unity, disciplined mobilization, and equitable representation.
“It is the turn of Igbo Eze to produce the next Senator,” Kingsley stated. “We are urging party loyalists and stakeholders to remain focused on the selection process and ensure that whoever emerges can represent the interests of the people and drive development in the state.”
Kingsley noted that the union’s leadership structure is clear and that the push for continuity is intended to strengthen representation from Enugu South and beyond. He also called on Igbo Eze traditional institutions to encourage youth participation, stressing that active youth engagement will be essential for voter mobilization and sustaining political momentum.
The NURTW chairman further advised party supporters to avoid unnecessary distractions and to work toward a peaceful, credible election that reflects the will of the people.
