It is only those who doesn't understand the geography and sociology of Nigeria that referred to Akwa Ibom Man as Calabar Man. Even PhD holders made this false statement. Today I will enlighten the people reading this, Calabar is not a tribe but capital of Cross River State.
If you want to address an indigene of Cross River State base on his State Capital, you are right to address him as Calabar Man but if you want to address Akwa Ibom Man base on his State Capital please kindly call him Uyo Man. In the nutshell, the popular tribes in Cross River and Akwa Ibom States are Efik and Ibibio. The two States are usually described as Sisters. I invite you to take a trip to these two fascinating States, you will be glad you did it.
