*NYCN AKWA IBOM STATE CHAPTER HOLDS FIRST QUARTER MANAGEMENT MEETING - REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO ARISE AGENDA AND YOUTH-DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT*
~_Council charts strategic direction for grassroots mobilization, institutional strengthening, and youth participation in state development_
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, has successfully convened its First Quarter Management Meeting, bringing together critical youth leaders and stakeholders to chart a strategic course for youth engagement, leadership development, and grassroots mobilization in alignment with the development priorities of the State Government.
The meeting, held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at New Point Hotel and Suites, Uyo, recorded robust participation from State Executive Council members, Local Government Chapter Coordinators, representatives of uniform and voluntary youth organizations, and other key stakeholders, reflecting the Council’s commitment to inclusivity, coordination, and institutional strengthening.
In his opening address, the State Chairman, Comr. Emmanuel Ekong, expressed profound appreciation to His Excellency, Umo Eno PhD, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, for his visionary leadership and sustained commitment to youth development through the ARISE Agenda.
The Chairman emphasized the imperative for the Council to align its programmes and operations with the ARISE Agenda, positioning young people as active contributors to economic growth, community development, and social stability. He further charged all Local Government Coordinators to demonstrate exemplary leadership, deepen grassroots engagement, and translate policy direction into measurable impact across their respective domains.
Setting the tone for deliberations, the Immediate Past Zonal Secretary of NYCN and National Treasurer, Pastor Uko Michael Ukpong, underscored the importance of teamwork, accountability, and strategic coordination in advancing the Council’s objectives. He encouraged participants to embrace a results-oriented approach in discharging their responsibilities.
Goodwill remarks were delivered on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development by Pastor Utipobong Obed, who reaffirmed government’s support for youth-focused initiatives and commended the Council for its proactive leadership and organizational cohesion.
The meeting ended with unanimous resolutions for the betterment and growths of the state youth council.
