Write Compelling Stories With The Power Of These 3 Proven Formulas And Boost Sales Today...

From the earliest days of civilisation, storytelling has been a powerful tool.

Used to communicate messages and ideas to people. This art form is widely utilised today in the world of copywriting, because it allows you to:

• Create copy that resonates with your lead.

• Build an emotional connection with him/her that increases your sales.

Today, we're going to explore some of the proven formulas for using storytelling in copywriting.

1. The Hero's Journey
This was a technique introduced by Joseph Campbell in his book "A Hero Of A Thousand Faces'' in 1949.

Below is a framework of how you can use it in your copy:

• Beginning: Explain the problem your product/service is set out to solve.

• Middle: Explain how your product or service solves the problem.

• End: Give an account of how customers have benefited from the solution.

By using this framework, you can create a compelling story that engages your audience and inspires them to take action.

2. Future Pacing
It is a technique that makes your prospect imagine themself in their ideal future.

This vivid imagination created through your writing creates a subconscious emotional tension.

This allows you to to incorporate your product into the story with more effectiveness.

As the prospect has already imagined themselves solving their problems.
With your product and reaping the benefits of using it.

3. The Before And After Bridge
This is powerful because it opens your lead's eyes to the improvement your product or solution can provide.

To fully understand this technique, let's break it down:

• Before: This is where you focus on the difficulty to your audience is facing. You highlight their struggles and pain points to ensure they identify with your story.

This ensures that your lead feels like you see and understand their point of view which grips them to continue reading.

If the pain points you outline do not connect with them, It is more than likely they will leave without hearing your solution or offer.

• After: In the first part of the copy, we focus on a dark and gloomy picture of the strongest your audience is dealing with.

Here we paint a more positive picture for your prospect, by focusing on the benefits of your product and how it will improve their lives.

• The Bridge: This is the final part of the formula which connects the before and after.

At this point, you introduce your product as the solution to take your lead from their struggles to their prosperity.

This is a simplest part of the formula and it usually leads to your CTA.

Our "social proof bias" is rooted in the fact that people are more likely to do something if others are doing it.

Also have their own psychological effects on the mind.

All these and more fall under the umbrella of "persuasive copywriting"

But, what is persuasive copywriting exactly?

Well, it is copywriting that aims to convince a lead to take a specific action

Using language that taps into his/her emotions, values and beliefs.

A main part of this is Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

A key focus of NLP is the use of words that represent things from the real world in our minds.

We perceive the real world with our 5 senses (sight, smell, hearing, taste & touch)

And these translate to "Submodalities" in our minds.

Submodalities is thinking related to your senses.

You can use this in copywriting to connect with a reader's preferred sense organ,

Improve communication and form a sub-conscious connection.

For example:

When you need us, we’ll be listening. (Hearing)

There are two summary devices.

The first of these is the “catalog.”

This is a brief listing of all the product’s benefits, one by one, without elaboration.

The second of these is to pile desire upon desire rather than application upon application.

And finally, as you close the sale, as you ask the prospect for action, as you state the terms of your guarantee,

You can turn that guarantee into the climax of your ad.

Intensification happens when you present a series of new and different fulfillments of your prospect’s desire.

• Put the Claims in Action.

And give him a verbal demonstration of what will happen to him the first day he owns that product.


• Show Him How to Test Your Claims.

Showing the product at work, not for an hour or a day, but over a span of weeks and months.

Seen through their eyes, experienced through their actions and reactions

BENEFITS Every product has features which tell you what a product is and can do but just writing a product's abilities will never sell.

But turning those 'features' into 'benefits' is where the money is made.

Benefits highlight how those features help your customer and solves their problem.

People only care about themselves, so this is a certain way to gain interest from your reader.

The benefit should promise the reader something good and show the product's edge over competitors.

Your product's benefits should meet the needs of your customers and it must solve their problems.

Your customer wants you to solve their problems and if you're product has the benefit to do so, you must tell them.
