Farmers, Let’s Diagnose This Together 👇 (Practical Class)

Details:
• Twisted neck
• Sitting, weak, not active
• Droppings: normal

This is not a guessing game.
Think like a farmer whose profit depends on this decision.

Your task:
1. What is your most likely diagnosis?
2. Which signs led you to that conclusion?
3. What is your immediate treatment plan (step by step)?
4. What will you check in your management (feed, water, housing, stress)?

Be specific. Be practical. No one-line answers.

If this was your farm, what would you do right now?

Let’s learn together.

Great farmers, Crop impaction is not a mystery disease most times, it’s caused by how and what you feed your birds. The good news? You can prevent it naturally with simple management.

First, get your feed texture right.
Avoid very dry, powdery feed because it can form lumps in the crop. Go for well-balanced mash or pellets. If you’re feeding dry grains, slightly moisten them or try fermented feed for easier digestion.

Next, never joke with clean water.
Water helps soften feed in the crop. When birds don’t drink enough, the risk of blockage increases fast.

You can also support digestion naturally.
Adding small amounts of grated ginger, garlic, or even aloe vera water can help keep the digestive system active. Fermented feed is also a powerful way to improve gut health and prevent buildup.

Also, don’t overfeed at once.
Large quantities can overload the crop. It’s better to feed in smaller portions, especially morning and evening.

Keep your feeding routine consistent.
Sudden changes in feed can disrupt digestion, so always introduce new feed gradually.

Farmers, do you fortify your chicken feed, or do you serve it just as it is?

Because the truth is, plain feed will keep your birds alive… but fortified feed helps them thrive. When you enrich feed with the right supplements, you’re supporting faster growth, stronger immunity, better feed conversion, and overall healthier birds.

A small boost in what you give them can make a big difference in what you get back.

Broiler farming will humble you if you ignore the small things and dirty litter is one of the biggest silent killers of performance.

When your litter is wet and dirty, you’re not just dealing with smell you’re creating a breeding ground for diseases like Coccidiosis, E. coli and even Salmonella.
Your birds start using their energy to fight infection instead of growing. That’s where slow weight gain begins.

It doesn’t stop there, hmmmmm

Wet litter produces ammonia, and once that gas builds up, your birds begin to struggle with breathing, leading to respiratory issues like CRD (Chronic Respiratory Disease).
You’ll notice dullness, reduced appetite, watery eyes, and poor growth. Before you know it, your feed is finishing but weight is not adding.

In hot weather, it gets even worse.
Wet litter increases humidity, making heat stress more intense. Birds eat less, pant more, and growth drops drastically.

So while you’re spending money on feed, your profit is quietly slipping away because your birds wouldn’t convert their feed as they should.

Dirty litter equals Disease, Poor growth and Losses

Don’t wait till it’s too late. Change your litter today.

Sometimes the best treatment is not drugs, it’s management.

If the real problem is heat stress and you start giving infection medication, you’re only spending money without solving the issue.

If the real problem is poor brooding and you focus on antibiotics, nothing will change.

And sometimes, after proper assessment, the truth is this No medication is needed.

What may be needed is:
• Reduce heat
• Improve ventilation
• Provide cool, clean water
• Reduce stocking density
• Adjust brooder temperature properly
• Minimize stress factors

Farmer to farmer:
Not every problem is a disease.
Sometimes, the solution is simply correcting the environment.

Before you medicate, ask yourself
Is this a health problem or a management problem?

That question alone can save you birds and money.
