Be careful this is on your own risk. I don’t let Claude go into my Instagram itself because Instagram can block me for that. I gave Claude access to my whole Instagram. Here’s the exact 30-minute setup so you can do it on yours.

Every AI tool you’ve tried is locked out of Instagram. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude. Same wall. They can read captions but they can’t watch your reels, see your hooks, or read the words burned on screen. So when you ask them for hook ideas, they’re guessing from generic data. Not yours.

The fix: stop asking the AI to reach Instagram. Make your laptop do it. Your laptop is allowed in. Claude writes the code. Your Mac runs it.

The setup, in order.

1. Get a free Meta API token at developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer. Add scopes instagram_basic and instagram_manage_insights. Click Generate. Copy. Save to ~/.config/ig_token.env. 5 minutes.

2. Install 3 free tools. One terminal command: brew install yt-dlp ffmpeg whisper-cpp yt-dlp downloads reels. ffmpeg extracts frames. whisper transcribes audio. 2 minutes.

3. Paste this into Claude: “Pull my last 100 IG posts using my Meta API token at ~/.config/ig_token.env. Download each reel with yt-dlp. Extract 10 frames per reel with ffmpeg. Transcribe audio with whisper. Vision-analyze every frame for on-screen text. Save to SQLite. Render an HTML dashboard with a row per reel sorted by engagement.”

Walk away for an hour. Come back to a searchable dashboard of every viral pattern you’ve ever posted.

What I found in mine: 20 of my top 100 reels used the same hook format. My #1 and #4 reels are the same video reposted. 1 hook ran my entire 2023. I had no idea I was repeating these patterns. Now I do.

Claude just freed 690GB on my Mac. 1 conversation.

My storage was full. My Mac was crawling. Fans spinning. Apps crashing. I’d been deleting files manually for months. Nothing worked.

I opened Claude and said “diagnose my Mac and clean it up.”

It scanned every running process. Found Finder stuck at 99.8% CPU for 9 hours. Found my VPN eating 42% of my processor with a bloated 666MB database. Found 15 apps I forgot existed. Found 4 startup items running at every boot for hardware I sold years ago.
