⚡️ It's official! ⚡️

Adsuki Bot, the clothing brand I've been working on, is now a registered trademark, which means production on the inaugural collection will start soon.

Adsuki Bot was born out of an idea to develop a comedy-inspired clothing line that bring a smile to people's faces. By comedy-inspired, I don't mean weird, silly sayings or dad jokes in funky fonts—I mean clothing that I, personally, would wear (and you know my steez), designed with comedy and laughter as core principles.

Before production gets underway, I would greatly appreciate your feedback. It would mean the world to me if you could take a few minutes to fill out this survey and submit it. It will certainly give the brand a greater chance at a successful launch.

The second part of the IWC product shoot. For this project, Abel Minnée shot Jeroen Minnaert on location at several spots throughout Amsterdam.

By shooting in different parts of the city, paired with different outfits on Jeroen, the social media campaign tells a series of short stories. Amsterdam, obviously, served as the foundation and unifying element between all the short stories.

Head over the instagram.com//iwcwatches_benelux_scand to see this and more of the new IWC anniversary collection, “150 years”.

One of the social media videos edited for Amsterdam-based Online Marketer Max Reilman.

If you're a graphic designer, especially if you're still in school but also if you've been working for a while, it's in your best interest to try as many facets of the field as possible. I don't have any formal education in video editing, but I've had to do it for a number of projects. I think I have a good feel for it, and I follow my instincts when doing it.

Also, there's google and YouTube with a wealth of knowledge from people who know a ton more about editing videos, or custom lettering, or type design than you do. Step out of your bubble, and go do something you've never done before. Being able to offer clients more avenues is only beneficial to everyone involved. And if it turns out you're not good at it, at least you can have a meaningful conversation about it with those who are.

Learn new things, don't get stuck in what you learned in school. Keep searching for new knowledge, and ask yourself if what you know is what's right in YOUR practice.

Here's a plea to any designer working. Please, please! do NOT undervalue your work. While it's sometimes necessary to check in with reality about what we can actually bring to the world as designers (and it's a lot of times less impactful than we hope or imagine it would be while in art school—let's admit this), undermining the entire industry by charging too little for too much work is destructive.

I've come across designers on AirTasker offering to do brand identities for $100 dollars (including unlimited revisions and a "work until you're statisfied" kind of attitude). This isn't offering your services, but selling yourself and the entire design industry short.

Design adds value, let's treat it as such.

‘365+1 Days’ is a calendar book published by Stichting Print. 7 printers, 2 bookbinders, 2 cardboard suppliers, 1 supplier of binding materials, and 366 Dutch designers, calligraphers, type designers, and illustrators collaborated on this publication.

The book serves as an overview of the state of Dutch design and illustration. The book is printed entirely in black and white on 60 gsm paper, and every contributor was asked to design a spread for one day of the year. The book itself was designed by Melle Hammer.

Studio Bak contributed the spread for October 4. On this day in 1957, the Soviet Union launched the Sputnik—the first artificial Earth satellite—into an elliptical low Earth orbit, triggering the Space Race. This significant moment in world history served as inspiration for the layout. (Wikipedia for sources, obviously)

Visit www.buyprint.nl to purchase the book.
