The Lord never promised that challenges would not come. In fact, Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
As a true believer, going through challenges is often a sign that God is preparing to move you from one level to another. Every great testimony is usually preceded by a great test. “The testing of your faith produces perseverance” (James 1:3).
When God is about to change something in your life, you may experience intense battles, disappointments, and moments when it feels like giving up is the only option. But remember, breakthrough is often closest when the pressure is greatest.
The devil is also a spirit. While he does not know the future the way God does, he constantly seeks to oppose God's plans for our lives. The Bible says, “Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). His goal is to discourage you so that you abandon the very thing God is about to accomplish in your life.
Many people begin to question God during difficult seasons. Others may mock you and even mock the God you serve, asking, "Where is the God you have been talking about?" Yet Scripture reminds us, “We walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). Faith is not believing only when things are going well; faith is trusting God when nothing seems to make sense.
I have come to tell you that if difficult times never came, you would never truly know who belongs in your life. Challenges reveal genuine friends, faithful supporters, and those who only stay around when things are comfortable. Difficult seasons also reveal your true character, your strength, and your dependence on God.
Imagine being broke and having friends who encourage you to become a ritualist for quick money, but you refuse because you fear God. Imagine being so sick that people advise you to seek solutions that you know do not align with God's will, yet you stand firm in your faith. Those moments are not signs of weakness; they are evidence of spiritual strength. “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life” (James 1:12).
Whenever life feels unbearable and giving up seems like the best option, I remind myself of Job. He lost almost everything, yet he refused to abandon God. He declared, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him” (Job 13:15). If Job endured and remained faithful, then so can I.
So do not give up. God is still working behind the scenes. “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). Your current struggle is not the end of your story. Hold on, keep praying, keep believing, and trust God's timing. The same God who brought you this far will carry you through.
Be of Good courage , stand firm in your faith and trust in God for he will never fail.
