📣 New potential Pinterest feature

If you have a Shopify store and catalog set up on Pinterest, you may now have the option to use Hosted Checkout.

So what is this? Hosted checkout lets merchants host their checkout page within a webview on the Pinterest mobile app. This means people can browse products on their mobile devices, select their preferred product details from the product Pin, then jump straight to your checkout page.

This is an interesting development to see in which direction is going.

Pinterest shared, “In a beta study, shoppers who used hosted checkout on Pinterest were more likely to make a purchase. In fact, we saw a +3.9% lift in their purchase propensity and a +2.7% lift in checkouts per user compared to Pinners who did not encounter the hosted checkout experience.”

In the meantime, if you are a product seller (digital or physical) and not on Shopify, I can help set your catalog up on Pinterest so you have the “shop” tab on your account. Shoot me a reply if this is something you'd like to learn more about!

I have always find the annual Pinterest Predicts trend report interesting to get a bit more insight into upcoming trends for the year ahead 👀

Here’s what Pinterest predicts for 2022:
📌 Wellbeing: 2022 will be about feeling your emotions in spaces made just for that: “Emotional escape rooms” are trending up. It’s also the year that people will get curious about “Mindful menstruation” and educate themselves about “Relation-tips” (of all kinds!).
📌 Travel: The most memorable adventures will happen after sundown in 2022 as people make a midnight escape after-hours with “Night moves.” And as our “Lake it ‘til you make it” trend kicks off, people will trade their beachfront getaways for an inland swim.
