Neutrino movie tour in Japan
June 26th to July 6th
Neutrino, a film by Hannie van den Bergh and Jan van den Bergh,
will be screened in Japan.

After a successful premiere in Amsterdam and a tour through the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, Neutrino comes to Japan for seven screenings.

How different the mountains are when it snows and even becomes foggy. To be the first to take steps in the snow without knowing whether this is the right path. If you can’t see anything in front of you, you have to open up your other senses and rely on your intuition.

As humble hikers we climbed the Corni de Canzo today. A long climb, step by step the top of the mountain came closer and closer.
Kissed a rock along the way.

Over the past two weeks, I have been researching deep time with a group of students from the . We visited the lab of earth scientist , conducted fieldwork with and went back to the origins of the universe with physicist .

We imagined a world where time and space unite, where new ways of connectiveness emerge.

Each group took a different approach to the presentation: a life event with music and film images about how the smallest and the largest are connected, an immersive web with texts and music about the network of mushrooms, a trace research with life painting and a joint meditation with a stone in the park.

New collaborations emerged, ideas were exchanged, the sense of time was deepened and it became a starting point for future projects.

We will walk the deep time walk through Amelisweerd with a group of students from the we start 4.6 billion years ago and walk towards now. a special experience to bridge one million years with each step.

A lesson in humility

With students from the I travel back in time. We visited the Geosciences lab at the Utrecht University, where catapulted us back in time 700,000 years.
Yesterday we drilled in the meadow at the SciencePark Utrecht. We went back through clay, peat and sand layers to the last Ice Age about 12,000 years ago with .
In the coming week, the students will process these impressions into interactive future scenarios.

This is part of the interdisciplinary seminar ‘rocking is a verb’ that I am organizing for the third time - for 1st and 2nd year students - at the HKU.

Soil monoliths are positioned around you like guards in the World Soil Museum in Wageningen. Here you experience the deep time under your feet.

These soil cross-sections tell about how the soil has been formed by floods, volcanic eruptions and human activities. One of the samples contained layered seaweed, used for building dikes to protect Vlieland against floods.

Open on Wednesdays.
