On 15 September the Dutch government showed its plans for 2027. Four of them touch the money of a worker.
Tax on the first part of your income goes up: from 35.70% to 36.23%. At the same time the arbeidskorting goes up, from โฌ5,685 to โฌ5,929 at its highest. That is the tax credit your employer already counts in your payslip, so for low and middle pay it takes back most of the higher rate.
The eigen risico, the part of your care costs you pay yourself, goes from โฌ385 to โฌ400. The discount on fuel tax stays for all of 2027.
These are plans, not law yet. Parliament votes in December, and the changes start on 1 January. Your first payslip of January shows what really changed: look at the tax line and the arbeidskorting line.
Some numbers come later this year, like the minimum wage for 2027 and the prices of health insurance on 12 November.
