It may sound like something out of a sci-fi movie, but virtual doctors are providing care and treatment for patients from miles away. But providing quality telemedicine is not as simple as starting a Zoom or Teams call – it is also about using technologies such as wearables that transmit valuable health data to caregivers. Virtual hospital wards are already in use in countries such as the UK, and may soon be coming to a medical center near you.

We will be keeping a close eye on this trend and the emerging healthcare technologies that make the seemingly impossible, possible.
