The Internet of Experiences

The Internet of Experiences Digital experiences are no longer restricted to live within windows and brightly lit boxes. The Inte

The Internet of Things forces virtual experiences to spill out of the screen and into our daily lives. User Experience professionals now have the responsibility to think outside of the boxes that we have grown to love and focus on designing products made to enhance physical life. During the rise of the Internet of Things, having empathy for users is a key criterion for success. User research is es

sential for understanding user behaviors, goals, and motives. UX professionals should bring users into the design process by using a participatory design process.

Over the last 12 months or so we’ve been keeping an eye on Google’s aggressive hiring for its AR/VR team which, among other things, suggested that the company was working on new “mass production” hardware that would go beyond the simple smartphone snap-in Daydream headsets. This week we learned that...

New definition of Internet of Things...
In 1999 Kevin Ashton, then at P&G, coined the term ‘Internet of Things’. It s a new term, but not a new operation. It was known as pervasive computing, ubicomp, and ambient intelligence.
These iterations could not make their demos and prototypes real as until the 90s database storage was too expensive. It is the Cloud, operational from 2000s, that enables . And today, status of 2016? Read now: http://www.theinternetofexperiences.com/blog

FUTURE OF FASTER....
The world is awash in fitness apps and trackers. Nike Plus, Fitbit, Under Armour's Healthbox, and more—they're all based on the idea that tracking and monitoring your health and athletic performance will help you understand your routine, inspire you to carry on, and ultimately improve your performance. Now Puma has taken this idea to a new level by going beyond wearable to raceable tech.
The BeatBot scans and follows the line on a track using nine infrared sensors, while wheel revolutions measure both speed and distance. That data is processed in real-time, to make more than 100 maneuvers per second to stay on the line, navigate bends, and cross the finish line at the pace you've programmed. It's outfitted with rear LED lights so you can see the BeatBot in your peripheral vision, and GoPro cameras on the front and back allow you to review your run after the race.

Meet the Beatbot.

The Internet of Things? No, the Internet of Experience...
In the not so distant future, my average workday will be different.

The smart watch on my nightstand will wake me and provide an overview of the day’s tasks. A quick glance at my aerobic activity will remind me to do a bit more walking today.

Coffee is automatically brewing as I enter the kitchen, and the refrigerator's screen, synced with data from my watch, will recommend meals based upon my body needs. As I leave the house, my car’s computer sends a message to my smart thermostat that I am no longer home, which turns AC levels down to an optimally economical temperature.
