I have never been a fan of marketing and advertising, sadly in my line of works it is inevitable...
It is up to us, the consumer, to stop turning a blind eye, stop being a mindless consumer and start being conscious about what it is we buy, where it comes from and under what circumstances it is produced.

One simple rule to start of with is stop buying things that have need advertised (especially on TV). If something needs to be advertised to be successful, you should question why that is. Good things do not need advertising for the word will spread from mouth to mouth.

It is up to you the consumer to be conscious of your decisions and to change your buying behavior.
