My first artist statement - lets see in few years:D
The most natural way of speaking for me is with emotions and expressions coming right from my heart. I am fascinated by art of primitive cultures living in harmony with the nature. They are materialistically poorer, but spiritually richer than for ex. European civilizations, and without the influence of cultural conventions and social illusions, their creation is based on their pure senses.
I, as well, live upon believe in my own senses and intuition towards impulses of my surrounding and that is mostly what drives my creativity.
My work can be usually about touches, smells and about not previously defined emotional impact on the viewer. What is also making my work exciting for me, is what is going to be the reaction of people and how big the interaction is going to happen. I play with materials minding their characteristics by using natural elements like water, fire, wind and earth to transform them. I am interested in the exact moment when the object, which I created with specially chosen material, is being transformed, depending also on time and space. Sometimes, the process itself plays for me more important role than the final result.
Observation of my surrounding in its everyday flow from mostly a psychological point of view, makes me ask myself questions, which I can reflect on and answer trough visual communication. My biggest concern so far was the general point of view of society on nowadays-everyday life. I mostly discovered that we are being told to not spend time on details and useless things, because there is no time for it, but in my point of view, we learn by making mistakes and little details are exactly what makes our life interesting. Therefore, I am almost looking for imperfection and coincidences, which subsequently create something unexpected.
I perceive our world through colors and they play big role in my work. I see them as a medicine to the pessimism coming out of the surplus of rationalism and all the overwhelming systems, which I consider needed, but not as a solution to everything, especially not happiness.
With my positive view on life, I am sometimes escaping from the reality, which explains the playful and in a way naive aspect of some of my work.
Being an art and design student makes me stay curious in all the fields of knowledge. As a graphic designer, I believe my mission is to make complex information simply understandable and therefore make people see what they might be missing. However, it is important for me to keep part of what message my work is presenting still liberating and joyful.
