You created the Pinterest business account.

Now you actually have to figure out what goes on it.

This is where I see people start doing a bunch of things simply because somebody told them they were “supposed to.”

Create 30 boards.

Post every day.

Follow people.

Make a ton of Pins.

Watch the analytics.

Instead, I want you to build your account around your actual business.

Figure out where Pinterest should send people.

Research the topics your audience is searching for.

Turn those topics into relevant boards.

Inventory the content you already have.

Then start creating multiple Pins around your strongest URLs and search angles.

You do not need to build your entire Pinterest strategy in three days.

In my newest YouTube video, I break down exactly what I would do if I were starting a Pinterest account from zero today, including a simple plan for your first 30 days.

One Pinterest mistake I see all the time:

People build affiliate Pins around the product keyword only.

But the better strategy is usually bigger than that.

It’s also:
why someone needs it
how they use it
what problem it solves
what kind of result it supports

That’s where stronger Pin angles come from.

One of the biggest mistakes I see with affiliate Pins?

They feel like ads too fast.

A lot of people take a product image, add the product name, drop in a link, and stop there.

But Pinterest users usually are not looking for random product ads.

They’re looking for:

ideas
solutions
inspiration
upgrades
products that fit something they already want

That’s why stronger affiliate Pins lead with why the product matters, not just what it is.

Think:

the use case
the problem it solves
the outcome
the reason someone would care

That’s what makes the Pin feel more natural to the platform.

I break this down more in my video on affiliate Pins.

Comment "aff" and I'll send you the video.

I think one of the biggest reasons affiliate Pins underperform on Pinterest is because they feel like ads too fast.

A lot of people lead with:
product photo
product name
link

But Pinterest users are usually looking for ideas, solutions, inspiration, or upgrades, not random product ads.

That’s why stronger affiliate Pins connect the product to a use case, pain point, or outcome.

Not just what it is.

Why it matters.

One of the biggest Pinterest mistakes I see?

People build their strategy around one obvious keyword and stop there.

But Pinterest users are usually searching for more than just the thing itself.

They’re searching for:

why they need it
how they’ll use it
what problem it solves
what kind of result it supports

That’s why stronger Pinterest strategy goes deeper than one keyword, one Pin angle, or one board name.

Inside Pin Profit Academy, I teach how to build a more strategic Pinterest presence with deeper keyword strategy, board strategy, SEO, and content alignment.

If you are tired of trying to figure Pinterest out in isolated little pieces, my membership is where I’d point you.

More support. More strategy. More help applying what you are learning.

07/05/2026

If you remember one thing, let it be this:

Boards establish the topics your account is about.
Pins target the searches your audience is making.

04/05/2026

There is a difference between collecting Pinterest advice and actually having a strategy.

My membership is for the person who wants support, structure, and a place to keep building instead of starting over every week.
