Bang & Olufsen Play, combined all their great looking, music related products into a visual attracting online store. I love how they integrated the detailed products presentations into a intuitive e-commerce design. Molded into a inspiring grid layout and build on CMS system Sitecore. Take a look and get inspired. The design is done by Copenhagen based digital agency Magic People Voodoo People.

For people who use screens with large resolutions it is definitely an advantage that a website adjusts to every possible resolution. In the world of webdesign that’s called full responsive webdesign. This technique is not the easiest way to implement and it definitely requires a different approach within the whole design proces. TBS isn’t the most outstanding design but it works great on my 17inch macbook pro.

I think most of you got pretty excited while watching the last keynote op Apple including the iPhone Watch. Started in 2009, Hedge House is an Indian-based, family owned company that offers hardwood furniture handcrafted by local artisans. The products are beautifully presented in a minimal responsive e-commerce design based on Content Management System Squarespace. What I think would be an amazing addition is to show the proces of creating these furniture pieces and shine light on the people that are creating it.

Founded in the 1930s by his grandfather, Mario Bruschi continued the family tradition which is based on love and passion for style. Their design is contemporary but still has that authentic touch to it and that’s exactly why I think AQuest (who is responsible for this piece of online art) did a great job in both visual design and interaction design.

It is one of the most succesful online stores in The Netherlands with a strong focus on electronics. It is known for its “niche” strategy, meaning that they launch a seperate store for each new product group. At Coolblue ‘Service’ is written large and that is why their employees are all specialized in a particular product group. Another cool fact is that since the launch in 1999, Peter Zwart (one of the founders) has been calling two customers every day. You wanna know why? Because he wants to learn from the people that buy his products and thus keep improving Coolblue’s customer service and experience.
