New identity for Elke regelt, a freelance office manager/management assistant. Elke wanted a clear and simple no-nonsense brand identity that reflects her strong organizational skills. The square, inspired by a punctuation mark, symbolizes precision, attention to detail and completeness, conveying Elke’s dedication to accuracy in all her work.

One of the things I enjoy most as a graphic designer is designing books and zines. The ‘Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner Too’ booklet which was given to the participants and creators of the various events. It summarizes these beautiful and empowering events and showcases the spoken words created during them.

So thankful to have also been part of Nafayah’s event. Creating a live artwork alongside amazing and powerful women was truly inspiring. The art piece I’ve made was brought together by the conversations, music, and spoken word during the event.

Time flies, taking a moment to look back at this amazing project from last year.

I was asked to design multiple assets for the side programs of the exhibition ‘Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner Too’ by Patricia Kaersenhout at the Van Abbemuseum.

During the exhibition, Kaersenhout provides a symbolic place at the table for women of color who fought against colonialism and for equal rights in history. In addition to the exhibition, there were side programs focused on strengthening social connections and community.

For each person/group I designed a tablecloth with carefully curated colors, forms and typography inspired by Kaersenhout’s table. One of the other assets were the invitations on the screens providing the information about each program. In the following posts I’ll be highlighting the other assets.

I’ve been using ultramarine blue a lot while making this work and noticed it has often been a prominent colour in my other personal projects and client work. What I find most interesting about ultramarine is the historical context and meaning derived from the Latin words ‘ultra’ and ‘mare’ which means; beyond the sea. 🌊
