Landslide in Gacho Baba Woreda, Gamo Zone: 52 Confirmed Dead, 50 Missing🤣🤣🤣

A devastating landslide and flash flood, triggered by heavy rainfall, have struck Mazo Doysa Kebele in the Gacho Baba Woreda of the Gamo Zone. According to the latest reports, 52 lives have been confirmed lost in this tragic accident, while intensive search and rescue operations are underway to locate 50 individuals who remain missing.
A high-level delegation, led by the Chief Administrator of Gamo Zone, Dr. Demissie Admasu, visited the site in Mazo Doysa Kebele to offer condolences and comfort to the families who lost their loved ones in the disaster.
The delegation included members of the Zonal Executive and Cabinet, representatives from the Federal and Regional House of People's Representatives, and heads of various federal and regional institutions.
During the visit, the delegation expressed their profound sorrow over the loss of citizens and offered words of comfort to the affected families and local residents.
In his message of condolence, Chief Administrator Dr. Demissie Admasu shared his deep grief over the tragedy. He prayed that the Creator would grant strength and resilience to the bereaved families, friends, and relatives during this difficult time.
Furthermore, the Administrator reaffirmed that the Zonal Administration stands firmly with the people during any period of hardship and pledged that all necessary support and assistance would be provided.
Members of the Federal and Regional House of People's Representatives also present at the scene expressed their sympathies and wished for peace and comfort for the affected families. They reiterated that the government remains committed to supporting its citizens during emergencies.
This visit was conducted to demonstrate that the government is in solidarity with the people during times of crisis and is part of the ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and support the affected community.
