SEAN SEED Co. Ltd. Partnering with growers since 1999 as a limited company. The comapny deals source seed, hybrid, & improved seeds of vegetables & maize.

GOAL:
Establish a profitable and sustainable seed enterprise in Nepal. OBJECTIVES:
- Develop & strengthen production through farmers/ group/ cooperatives
- Produce & sell high quality improved & hybrid seeds
- Ensure the seed market with the concept of the marketing mix
- Establish a viable and pioneer seed enterprise in Nepal
SSSC is:
- Dealing with 25 vegetables (OPVs) and involving in hybrid maize and tomato seeds production
- Establishing seed crop research activities in 3 sites and covered > 900 HH, nearly 170 ha under seed crop
- Producing > 600 MT vegetables, 35 Kg tomato & 13 MT of F1 maize seed
- Working with HMRP (community-based seed production), MAIZE-CRP (doubling maize productivity under abiotic stress environment), and HVAP (improving livelihood from seed production)
- Following contract seed production and strong in seed marketing
STRENGTH:
- Seed warehouse: 200 MT,
- Dehumidifying storage: 10 MT
- Seed cleaning cm grading machine, 50 Kg/h capacity
- 5 ha land especially for R&D activities in 3 different agro-ecological zones
- Seed Laboratory (G, P, Moisture)
- Qualified manpower, Experts! WAYS FORWARD:
- Capacity building & strengthening
- Collaboration and technology transfer/downscale modern technology at farm level
- More investment in research
- Scale-up seed value chain activities
- Focus hybrid variety development and commercialization of the technology
