Bucket list item: officially ticked ✔️

Karen finally made it to Hobbiton after a previous attempt ended less “Middle-earth adventure” and more “hospital admission” 😬

The weather wasn’t exactly giving “sunny Shire postcard,” but not even the rain could dampen the magic of wandering around those hobbit holes. The detail, the creativity, the sheer effort behind it all… absolutely incredible.

Honestly, even in the rain, the place is pure magic ✨
10/10 would survive another Waikato downpour for second breakfast.

Now what to put onto the Bucket List?

Winter prep at Kaz HQ ❄️

We have officially reached the stage of life where “electric lap blankets” feel less like a luxury and more like a business necessity.

The best part? The cords are long enough to travel with us around the office… although we may need an extension cord for bathroom trips 😂

Yes, the room is warm.
Yes, we still feel cold.
Yes, someone suggested stand-up desks with walking machines underneath… but let’s not get carried away. Maybe next year.

Kylie is stoked to see this one go live ✨
A huge project showcasing everything that makes Cambridge so special - where to stay, eat, shop, explore, invest, conference, connect and discover.

Often described as the jewel of the Waikato, Cambridge is where high-performance sport meets relaxed living, and vibrant culture sits alongside small-town charm. Centrally located in the North Island, it’s an easy and rewarding destination whether you’re visiting for a day or staying a while.

We love bringing projects like this to life - big or small. If you need support with your next project, chat to the Kaz team 🤍

Still buzzing after the Rocketspark event celebrating the launch of Creative Freedom — a field guide for running a graphic design business 📘✨

There’s something pretty special about being in a room full of designers from all around the motu (yep, I’m claiming that’s the right word 😄), many of whom have been part of the Rocketspark journey for years. You could feel it straight away — this isn’t just a platform, it’s a community.

Designers can be bold, opinionated, a little bossy even… but we all share one thing: we genuinely love this team.

Rocketspark have built their business around people. They show up with real support, real solutions, and real aroha. They’re there to help us grow our businesses, and in turn, help our clients thrive too. And honestly? Not many website companies operate like that.

Hearing their story was inspiring — but seeing how they’ve grown as a team was even better. It really does feel like a family (and I’m proud to say I feel part of it 💛).

Massive thanks to the Rocketspark crew — the book is coming with me on holiday this week and I can’t wait to dive in cover to cover. I've also bought 3 other copies - for team members and two other great creatives!

Here’s to community, creativity, and doing business a little more human. 🚀

Today was about taking a moment pausing to remember those who have given their lives for what we have today, and acknowledging those who continue to serve in our armed forces.

It felt especially important to reflect on that sacrifice, particularly with everything going on in the world right now. Taking that time brings a quiet sense of perspective.

I found myself thinking about those who came before us - family members included - who experienced war firsthand, and feeling a deep sense of gratitude for the lives we’re able to live today.

A day for remembrance, reflection, and appreciation for the freedom we have.

Some partnerships just work — and ours with LesleyAnn Thomas and the team at People in Mind is one of them.

For over 20 years, they’ve been our trusted advisors for everything payroll and HR. They take care of the details (and there are a lot of them!) - from calculating salaries to ensuring we’re meeting all our compliance obligations - so we can focus on what we do best.

But it’s more than just ticking boxes. Over that time, what started as a professional relationship has grown into a genuine friendship. They’re always there with calm, practical guidance when we need it, helping us navigate the responsibilities that come with being an employer and keeping us on track.

Recently, we had the pleasure of celebrating a pretty special milestone with them - 25 years in business🥳. An incredible achievement, and one we feel lucky to have been part of along the way.

Here’s to long-standing relationships, shared trust, and friendships built over time. Congratulations again, LesleyAnn and the People in Mind team - we think you’re pretty great.

We love the work that Cambridge Lifeskills does in our community and proud to have backed them from our first introduction many years ago. Keep up the amazing mahi - our community is so lucky to have such an amazing organisation with passionate people behind it.

A heartfelt thank you to Kaz 👏

For over 15 years, Kaz has been one of our true champions - generously supporting Cambridge Lifeskills with design expertise, creativity and ongoing encouragement. From sponsoring the design and print of our annual calendar to producing beautiful brochures like these (used this week at Te Awa Life Care Village to share more about our work and Club 83), her support makes a real difference.

Kaz believes deeply in our cause, and we are so grateful.

If you’re looking for innovative design, branding, websites or print - and want to work directly with your designer - we can highly recommend Kaz. Cambridge is lucky to have her 💚

There’s something pretty special about handing the 'keys' back to our clients.

When we build a website, it’s not just about creating something that looks great - it’s about making sure the people behind the business feel confident using it too. That means sitting down together, walking through the “back-end”, and making sure they’re in control going forward (if they want to be).

Today Kylie spent time with Simon from SupplyIQ, who’s recently taken the brave leap into starting his own business - always something we admire. With his new website now live, it was all about showing him how to upload and manage his own blog content so he can keep things fresh and relevant.

We love these moments. They’re not just handovers — they’re part of building a relationship based on knowledge, trust, and a shared goal of seeing our clients succeed.

Because a great website is one thing… but confidence in using it? That’s where the magic really happens.

Today was one of those days that fills your cup (no coffee required ☕😉).

I had the absolute privilege of spending time with some truly amazing people — each with lives rich in stories, experiences, and a few cheeky moments along the way. What a gift it is to listen.

Add in a couple of days in Mosgiel, wrapped in the most beautiful autumn weather, and it’s safe to say… this job has its perks - including a golf cart!🍂

Grateful, inspired, and possibly a little reluctant to leave!
