Signs of Art NZ

Signs of Art NZ The Art of hand painted traditional signage is my passion in life. I prefer to use recycled items to create something truly unique.

In 2006 I joined "The Letterheads" movement and began a journey of learning from some truly inspiration 'Old School' Sign Painters, Gilders, Pin Stripers & Airbrush Artists. I have finally arrived at that point in time where it is time to spread my wings wider and take the leap into self employment. Signs of Art is about promoting the work that I love to do the most.

A handwritten bespoke bit of signage for Lawn Fix last week. These guys maintain your lawns, anything from bug problems to weeds. They'll make it green and glorious again. Get in touch with Darryl and the team. Ths wee machine spreads the chemicals and keeps them away from your garden. Pretty clever if you ask me 🙂

Chris and the teamat Selwyn Osteopaths asked us to integrate two other businesses into their signage recently. They wanted to maintain their look but give their two tenants their own voice. They also wanted a way to add their address without adding it into the corner of their sign panels so we suggested hand painting the fence posts.

With everything now installed, Chris and the team couldn't be happier with the new additions.

Thanks for choosing Signs of Art 🙂

A new look for the cast iron cross at The Church of the Resurrection in Rolleston.

When I first visited I asked "Why do you have a cabbage tree on the wall"? There can be no doubt now what the cross is or what it represents. I'm really appreciative that the new Vicar has the vision to see what changes are needed. If Church on Sunday is your thing, come and see what's new at Brookside road, Rolleston

As part of my new role at Rolleston College I was asked to assist our guests, Redford Grenel (drummer for Shapeshifter) and his sister Amiria Grenel who is a successful solo artist for NZ Music month. I have to say that they were the loveliest and most humble people and absolutely brilliant live on stage. Redford uses traditional instruments alongside percussion and Amiria is an accomplished guitarist with the most beautiful voice. Her country folk songs tell lovely stories and she had us all clapping and singing along.

After their lunchtime performance they stayed and did a 1 hour workshop with some of our music students. They were both warm and engaging and really honest about their careers, the challenges and the joys of being in the music industry. I really hope they visit again, it was an absolute joy meeting them.
