Today weâre proud to share a story that speaks to the heart of why we do what we do. đ§Ą
Over the past few weeks, Luke, one of our OG consultants together with Simcox / Isaac Group â have had the privilege of working alongside Lee Tepuia, a man whose journey hasnât been easy, but whose response to adversity has become a blueprint for change.
Once deported under Australiaâs 501 laws, Lee could have gone down a very different path. Instead, he chose purpose. He built a boxing gym from scratch, đ„ created a safe space where youth could build healthy habits, and committed himself full-time to the locally funded youth centre, mentoring those who need it most.
And the impact is real.
Fifteen people have now come through Lee, onto our books â some coming from gang backgrounds, some with nothing but a learnerâs licence â and through his guidance, discipline, and belief in them, theyâre now stepping into genuine career pathways.
Weâve already seen candidates move from learner licences to Class 2 drivers, and even into operating diggers. Thatâs the kind of transformation that changes a personâs entire trajectory and really fills our bucket đđ»
For us at Roading and Building Recruitment, this is what collaboration means. Itâs not just recruitment â itâs pastoral care, growth, and opening doors that werenât visible before. Itâs partnering with clients like Simcox and Isaac Group who lead with heart and invest in real community outcomes.
Lee is doing what he does from passion and heart. The world needs more people like him.
Weâre incredibly proud to stand beside him, to support this kaupapa, and to be part of the next chapter of these young peopleâs journeys.
Impact happens when good people align with good purpose.
And this is only the beginning. Lee is also in the top 100 of the Kiwibank New Zealander of the year, and we wish him all the best for the shortlisting. You deserve it and more mate, and this is for you, well done!

Managing Director, RB Recruitment.
