It was Brianna's boyfriend's birthday last week so she decided to make him his favourite sweet treat - a Belgian Slice! She'd never made one before and it's quite a tricksy thing to make but she kept calm and carried on and she ended up with a very delightful looking (and tasting!) Belgian Slice and a very happy boyfriend.

She also very kindly let me practice my photo-documentary skills in indoor situations and gave permission for me to post a few of the shots. Thanks B!

Another group of photos from my photo session with in her late summer garden. The colours, the shapes and the textures of this beautiful cutting garden really were something to behold - and all contained in the relatively small backyard of Katherine's lovely mid-century suburban home. Just the most magical place. You should give Katherine a follow if you aren't doing so already - she's one of my favourite accounts here on Instagram 🥰 - lots of flowers (of course) but lots of beautifully written life-wisdom too.

And now for something completely different! I was asked to take some photos for a lovely woman who offers health & wellness coaching and seminars. I photographed her in her own home, on the beach and also presenting to a class. It was quite a different sort of photography from anything I've done before and I have to admit that I felt quite nervous beforehand but I managed to get some shots I was pleased with and - most importantly - that my client was pleased with too! Here are a few of the 'at home shots'.

Brianna trying on a dress at my friend Heather's fabulous shop . This was where we went to find some 'bridesmaid' dresses for our wedding day practice shoot. This dress wasn't really a contender for a bridesmaid dress but it fitted Brianna so perfectly and it was such a good price (Heather's prices are very, very good - I keep telling her she should put them up!!) that she ended up buying it.

I've shared two versions of this photo - the first one straight out of the camera and the other auto-corrected by Lightroom. I keep thinking I like the 'as shot' one best and then I look at the other one - which is cooler - and I think, no, I like THAT one best! Which one do you like best?

During my session with the wonderfully talented local floral artist I took a range of different portraits and candids in her beautiful garden and in her studio. In these three photos Katherine is in her element amongst the sunny yellows and greens of whatever these sweet little daisy-like flowers are!

I am such an ignoramus where flower names are concerned - I see them and I love them but I hardly ever know what to call them!

When we did our bridesmaid practice shoot Brianna realised we'd forgotten to organise flowers - and you can't have bridesmaids without flowers! - so she leapt into our messy garden and grabbed some agapanthus and some whatever that little dainty orange flower is that grows like a lovely w**d all over our property and voila - our bridesmaids had flowers!

They looked so pretty against her brown satin dress I had to give them their own special moment 😍

A few more 'wedding day preparation' photos from my session with Brianna and her cousin Sophie last year. These were shot in Brianna's bedroom prior to us heading out into our extremely messy garden for the more formal photos.
