Some of the most rewarding stories we get to capture at are the ones that showcase the people making a real difference in our communities.

Recently, we had the privilege of documenting some of the Tatou Fa'amalosi programme. This is a Pasifika-led programme that brought families together from across Central Otago to strengthen culture, identity, education, wellbeing and community connections.

What began with a movie night in Alexandra grew into something much bigger over a 5 week period — a space where families could learn, support one another, celebrate achievements and build a stronger sense of belonging.

A huge congratulations to local organisers Joss Hukui Leebody and Kusitina "Tina" Colailago, whose passion and leadership helped bring this vision to life.

We also acknowledge the many volunteers, educators, community leaders and supporters from across the region, including Hana Fanene-Taiti Halalele QSM from Oamaru Pacific Island Community Group and Pip Laufiso NMZM from the Ministry of Education.

The warmth, pride and connection we witnessed throughout the programme was truly inspiring.

Dale & Finn did a great job reflecting on Kellie's contribution to Canoe Slalom - winner of the John Fitzharris Memorial Trophy for Services to Sport (at the Forysth Barr Central Otago Sports Awards) last week. Congratulations Kellie!
