I think this might be one of the most important concepts in business.
Agency.
And no, not the kind you hire to do your marketing.
Your level of agency is essentially how much you believe you can influence what happens next.
Low agency says: “That won’t work for my business.”
High agency says: “How could I make that work for my business?”
Low agency says: “People won’t pay more.”
High agency says: “What would I need to change to make this worth more?”
Low agency waits for the market, the algorithm, the economy, the right client, more time, more money or Mercury to get out of retrograde.
High agency looks at the exact same circumstances and asks:
Right. What CAN I do?
And I think this is one of the biggest differences I see between businesses that stay stuck for years and businesses that can look completely different 12 months later.
It doesn’t mean blindly believing you can control everything. You can’t.
It means taking ownership of the bits you can.
Summer is just over three months away. 2027 is just over four.
If you want your business to look almost unrecognisable next year, there is an enormous amount we can change between now and then.
Pricing. Positioning. Marketing. Offers. Systems. Strategy. Confidence.
And if you need someone to help you work out what actually needs changing, that’s quite literally what I do.
But first…
Tell me honestly: where do you reckon you sit?
Low, mid or high agency?
