Well it's the end of the road...
And what a journey it's been.
Like I have said at the end of countless shoots, It's a wrap.
The time has come to say goodbye to Gilchrist Media.
It has been one of the most exciting, rewarding and fulfilling things I have ever done in my life.
But the stresses of securing clients, upgrading expensive kit and extremely long editing sessions to meet deadlines, all became a bit too much for a full time family man.
Along the journey I have made some great friends and I have worked with some amazing clients that I would never have originally dreamed of working with including SKY Sport NZ, the Otago Daily Times, Pulse Energy Highlanders, the University of Otago, Sport Otago, Speight's, Otago Cricket, Otago Rugby, What’s Cooking, Dick's World, NZME., Harcourts Dunedin and many more.
I worked closely with some special and talented people along the way including Shené Holtzhausen, Wade McClelland, Eddie, Callum Brown, Kirsty Nicholls, Phil Janssen, Joseph Gray-Smith and Kyle Beck.
A big thank you to Doug McSweeney who got me started on this trip, Nigel Thornicroft for teaching me so much while also teaching me how to have fun, Alan Nicholls on always pushing for locally produced content and to Joe Wheeler and Mike Kerr for showing me how to push the limits.
A special mention to Richard Kinley, Karl Bloxham, Richard Perkins, Grant Hubbard and Monique Wright at Otago Rugby.
You were always my favourite people to work with.
Thank you for allowing me to propose to my Wife during half time at one of Otago's games and a massive thanks to Emma Diamond for your amazing organization around that special time in my life.
And of course thank you to my darling wife Ruth for supporting me through everything.
She has seen me at my best and my worst and was always there to pick me up.
Dunedin people if you want a recommendation for an amazing local videographer, go check out MADE by WADE, without a doubt there are none better that I have seen.
And if anyone is looking to buy some filming kit, hit me up!
God Bless everyone, I will catch you around.
