Are we starting to trust businesses less because of Al?

I’m not anti-Al. I use it...even helped me make sure there was no spelling mistakes in this caption...(but seriously how refreshing is a spelling mistake these days?)🤪

Most businesses are using it in some way now every day.

But when Al starts replacing your brands identity and voice that’s where it starts becoming a problem.

Because in an over-crowded newsfeed the ones that will win are the businesses that FEEL HUMAN.

In an Al-heavy world TRUST matters more than ever.

Use Al to support your business, but don’t let it become your brand!!!

And also side note…I’ve seen that many menus and posters in the last 7 days of fake looking AI food from businesses it’s outrageous…I would rather see a good old picture of your plate and weekly specials than a unauthentic meal that doesn’t even exist….definitely doesn’t make me want to come eat at your restaurant!! 😵‍💫

Client Spotlight | This iconic local bakery deserved a kick-ass website that reflected exactly what makes it special, warm, welcoming, and full of personality.

Stone Oven Bakery/Cafe Hokitika & Café is a well-known Hokitika favourite, loved by locals and visitors for its classic bakery food, great coffee, quality meals, gelato, and relaxed West Coast feel.

The goal for this website was to create a fresh, modern Squarespace website with a mobile-first design, because so many visitors travelling through Hokitika are searching from their phone for a great place to eat, whether they need a quick bite, a proper meal, or a bloody decent coffee.

It was also important that the site supported local families year-round, making it easy to view menus, check opening hours, find the location, and see everything Stone Oven offers across the bakery, café, and dinner service.

Throughout the website, we focused on:
🥧 Showcasing kiwi bakery favourites
🥧 Making the all their menus easy to find
🥧 Positioning Stone Oven as more than just a bakery
🥧 Highlighting catering, custom cakes, group bookings, and private functions
🥧 Strengthening local search terms for people looking for restaurants, coffee, bakeries, cafés, and places to eat in Hokitika

The design direction was modern, fun, and welcoming, while still keeping that familiar local bakery feel Stone Oven is known for.

Alongside the website design, we worked through the copywriting, SEO, page structure, menu layout, image optimisation, and technical setup to help improve search visibility and create a better experience for people browsing from mobile.

I’ve absolutely loved bringing this one to life for such a well-loved West Coast business.

I’m stoked to officially announce a new partnership between Elevate Marketing and Ketta Pumps.

Formerly known as Condor Pumps, Ketta is the sister company to the very well-known Condor Civil and a trusted NZ-wide supplier across smaller pumps, plumbing equipment, farming equipment, fuel, grease and oil equipment, plus civil and underground equipment.

Ketta has come on board as one of my premium marketing management partners, where I work closely with a limited number of businesses needing senior-level strategy, direction, and hands-on support.

Client Spotlight | “It looks fantastic, you’re a f***ing genius”...honestly, this is exactly the kind of energy I love when working with clients, and bringing Karlena Lewin Studio website to life was no exception. 👩‍🎨

Karlena is a mixed media artist based on the West Coast, creating from her vibrant home studio and sharing her work with a growing audience of over 46.9K followers on TikTok.

She already had a Wix website and liked the platform for its ease of use, but the site itself felt outdated and no longer reflected her style, her brand, or the direction her business had grown into.

The goal was to create a fresh, modern website with a mobile first layout, stronger user journey, and a clear path for customers to shop her artwork online.

With fresh photography that really captured who Karlena is as an artist, we created an eCommerce website where people can:

🎨shop artwork by collection
🎨get to know the artist behind the work
🎨enquire about custom commissions
🎨book into workshops

We also rebuilt and restructured the online store with clearer product categories, making it much easier for customers to browse and buy. Over the past few months, we’ve worked closely with Karlena in person too, helping her feel confident managing her online store herself and adding new artwork as it becomes available.

With a brand this visual, it was so important that the art stole the show. Karlena’s work is sold worldwide, so the website needed to feel beautiful, professional, and easy to use from anywhere.

Last Friday I presented a marketing strategy to my client Brightprint , at their annual Sales + Marketing afternoon...

Getting clear on what worked well last year, and what they’re wanting to achieve in the new financial year.

It's one of the most valuable things you can do is getting sales and marketing in the same room... same goals, same message, same plan.

Honestly, one of the biggest issues I see in businesses is that sales and marketing don’t align. But when they do, they support each other properly.

Marketing helps warm up the right people and build trust before a conversation even starts, then sales feeds back what customers are asking for, and the pain points we can solve through our marketing... so the messaging stays sharp and relevant.

It becomes a loop, not two separate departments doing their own thing.
