You know the saying, a builders house is never complete - well a designers portfolio is never up to date 😂 2025 in summary was a busy roller coaster of returning to my work post mat leave (woohoo for paying the bills), picking up more freelance work, selling a house and buying a house, moving our family 1,000km from the Waikato to Selwyn and setting up in a new town. It’s been great to be busy, even better to slow back down after the move and reclaim my evenings and weekends again. Still working in the background and one day maybe I will have time to update my own portfolio 😂

Talk about better work stories 🐄

Next February marks 8 years of working with Fonterra! Over that time, I’ve met my fair share of cows, but none as keen on a close-up (or a cuddle) as this sweet girl.

Filming on the farm always comes with surprises, and this friendly girl was definitely the highlight of the day.

Kia ora, I’m Courtney the owner and designer behind Kawi Cou.

I have 10 years of experience behind the tools as a Senior Designer working on campaigns, events and brand + retail collateral for one of the largest companies here in New Zealand. This year I’ve made the most of my time on maternity leave collaborating with brands and agencies to expand on my creative experience and work on projects that wouldn’t normally come across my desk, all while introducing my first kiddo to her first year in school and taking a swing at parenting a second strong willed child 😅
