Bostock and Chesterhope Station Planting Day July 4th 11am

Join us for a native planting day along the Tūtaekurī-Waimate Stream at Chesterhope Station, hosted by the Joan Fernie Charitable Trust and Bostock New Zealand.

For the second-year running, the Bostock Fairtrade USA worker committee has funded native plants to help protect and restore this important waterway.

When: Saturday 4th July at 11am
Where: Entry at the end of Chesterhope Road, Pakowhai

Feel free to bring along your friends and family, please bring a drink bottle and a spade.

We will wrap up the day with a complimentary BBQ.

Please note this is a working farm, so no pets please.

We embrace creative thinking and the courage to try something new.

Bronze beetle can damage up to 25% of an organic apple crop in Hawke's Bay and currently costs growers more than $13,000/ha per year in damaged fruit and physical controls.

To reduce our reliance on under tree cultivation to disrupt beetle larvae we are trialing a novel approach of injecting live nematodes into the soil with high pressure aeration in the root zone. The goal is to create competition for the bronze beetle larvae, preserve fruit quality and improve soil health.

It's a bold move in our continued efforts to grow healthy, premium produce in partnership with nature, preserving and enhancing our environment for future generations.

Despite the rain we had a wonderful turnout last Saturday for the 8th annual Bostock New Zealand Planting Day helping to restore the Karamū Stream.
Thank you to all our wonderful team and volunteers who carefully planted and mulched 1,100 plants that were proudly donated by local Hastings native nursery CoolShrub.
It was inspiring to view the previous years plantings over a well earned BBQ lunch generously supported by Bostock Brothers.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the day a success and your continued support preserving and enhancing our environment for future generations.

BOSTOCK Planting Day 2025, Saturday 5th July 11am

Come join us as we continue our native plantings helping to protect and preserve the Karamū Stream.

It will be our 8th annual planting day and will be a great way to see and appreciate the work completed over the years. This year the plants are proudly donated by Hastings native plant nursery, CoolShrub.
