Hastings girl. Global journalist. Now she's bringing the world's biggest stories home.
Anna Fifield grew up in Hastings with big dreams and went on to become a foreign correspondent for two of the world's most prestigious publications. Gaza. Iraq. North Korea. Iran. She's been there, reported it, and lived to tell the tale with extraordinary clarity.
With so much unrest across the globe right now, her perspective feels more important than ever.

Maulder Builders are leaders in high-end residential builds. They focus on build projects within 20km approx from their base in Havelock North and have an awesome portfolio of stunning new build and renovation projects. The latest was a new build on the Havelock hills - a 2 bedroom home that's over 500m2. The house has been superbly photographed by Simon Cartwright and is part of an feature on Archipro. This is massive for HB. We need a strong local media presence to tell the stories of our region. Yes the media environment has changed and the good ol newspaper isn’t like it used to be but coverage of local issues, happenings and sport and culture are really important.
The day will come soon that we may not have a daily newspaper.

The proposal comes as Hawke’s Bay Today owners NZME look to slash regional newsrooms to beef up audience numbers in Wellington and Christchurch.
