Apparently, I created my first marketing campaign when I was 8. 😄
Last week I was sorting through some old photos when I found a school project I'd completely forgotten about.
After a family holiday to the Outer Hebrides in Scotland, I'd decided this incredible little island needed its own holiday brochure.
So I made one.
It had a story about the island, pictures to entice potential visitors, an attempt to capture how the place made you feel and, of course, a way to make a booking.
Looking at it again more than 30 years later made me smile.
I've always loved taking a place, product, idea or business and working out what makes it special, then finding the best way to share that with other people.
At 8, that involved coloured pens, holiday photos and a homemade brochure. Today, the tools (and thankfully my design skills) have changed quite a bit.
But the enjoyment hasn't.
I've shared the full story in my latest Meet Me at the Gate -www.topgatemarketing.co.nz/blog
