Hawai'i - Pacific Evaluation Association. Caught up with Peter Mataira Professor Social Work at Hawaii Pacific University. I think it’s been over 10 years since we last met f2f.
An interesting Sense Maker applied practice presentation. Honest about the benefits and challenges. And they’re all young - just what the field needs.

Hawai'i - Pacific Evaluation Association. Keynote presentation complete. A follow up Q&A session after lunch. Then a workshop tomorrow. I was reading some of Kathy Tibbetts work and it was lovely to catch up with her. I think it’s been over 10 (?) years.

Presentation was well-received. Audience engaged with thoughtful questions.

Before Hawai'i, Nan's heading to Sydney to the UNSW’s Diversity Festival, taking place from 22 to 26 September on Gadigal Land. Nan's contributing to a curated session centred on Indigenous knowledges and systems change.
Nan's also presenting to the Engineering Faculty! Weaving Systems: Indigenous Knowledge and Engineering in Conversation.
The Diversity Festival is a week-long series of free events hosted by the Division of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), where students and staff co-design and lead programs that explore human diversity and promote belonging.

The Australian Human Rights Institute at UNSW launches the festival program with a provocative discussion asking: does the purge of diversity and inclusion initiatives in the US and tectonic shifts in global politics signal the death knell for dreams of a more equal society here in Australia?
