What kind of marketing do you do to promote your business?
How do you tell customers about you and what you do?
Winter is a great time to do a marketing audit. The point of an audit is to figure out what's working and what's not.
Social media marketing platforms like Facebook and Instagram have become mainstream and it's important to have a plan with achievable action points.
Let me know if I can help you out with that 😊

πŸŽ„Merry Christmas πŸŽ„
I don't know about you but I've found this year has been a real 'mixed bag'.
From the highs of running community workshops to the lows of another lockdown and the continuing saga that is Covid.
I feel very lucky to be able to work in my community and see the behind the scenes and the day to day drive and creativity that helps to build our little piece of paradise.
It is a real privilege and I want to thank you for supporting me this year.
Wishing you a restful and restorative Christmas season and a fun and festive New Year

It doesn't have to cost money πŸ’ΈπŸ’ΈπŸ’Έ
One of the best things you can do to support small business right now is follow the advice below.
-
We talked a lot about this during the recent workshop I held here in the area. Once you understand how the algorithm and engagement work this makes so much sense.
So take a few moments and share this post too, let your followers know how they can support you. Let's get the word out there.
P.S Spending $$ at your fav business is still number 1 πŸ˜‰

Can you tell that I'm feeling thankful?
I'm feeling thankful for the 13 super people who came to the workshops and made them great events.
I'm feeling thankful that I live and work in this amazing area of Little River and Birdlings Flat.
And I'm thankful to the Little River Wairewa Community Trust for the funding to help local businesses and organisations during this tough time.
So what's been the main takeaway from this experience for me? Mostly that collaboration and networking is about creating connections and that's what we all need a little more of right now.

So grateful to be working with people in my community and giving them a leg up with their social media skills.

So grateful to be working with people in my community and giving them a leg up with their social media skills.

We are paying the bill for you to 'level up' on your social media.
The Trust is supporting Little River/ Wairewa businesses through this challenging time by funding two social media workshops run by Lyn Leslie from Peninsula Media, a local social media marketer.
All you have to do is email Lyn at [email protected] and she will give you more details. Reserve your spot with a $20 booking fee and thats all you have to pay for this two hour workshop.
Spaces are limited so book soon (especially the daytime workshop, only one place left)

21/09/2021

There are a few spaces left for the Monday 27th 7-9pm social media workshop. If you've been thinking about attending, email me asap to grab your spot. Email Lyn at [email protected]
This workshop is for any local person who uses social media for their business or organisation and would like to know the top tips and tricks.
Wairewa, Little River folk - these workshops are funded by the Little River Wairewa Community Trust to help you get ahead in business. So make the most of the very reduced price and book your spot.

After patiently waiting for the alert levels to drop, and some research into how to safely hold a workshop at level 2, I'm happy to announce the workshops are "Green for Go".
This is what you need to know:
Dates:
Monday 27th September at 7-9pm at the Birdlings Flat Community Hall or
Wednesday 29th September at 12.30pm-2.30pm at BF Community Hall
I feel it's important to do these workshops before the year gets too busy and it will be a great 'lead in' to the summer season for many people.

First in best dressed:
There is a limit of 10 people at each session, so make sure you email me now and I will send you the bank details to pay the $20 fee (the LRWCT are funding the remainder of the cost 😊)
I will email you a confirmation once your payment has cleared. (it may take a day πŸ˜‰)
The evening session will be more popular so be quick OR book the daytime session if you are available.
We will comply with the level 2 regulations by scanning in using the QR code, social distancing, including a 2m gap between seats and wearing face masks. Who knows, we could be at level 1 by then.

Who is it for?
For anyone in the Wairewa area who already uses social media and wants to know how to use it more effectively for your business, group or organisation.
And/or:
Anyone in the area who may be wondering how to promote your business in our 'closed border' situation, this workshop is for you.

With the generous support of the Little River Wairewa Community Trust, the workshops will be locally focused and available at the very low price of $20 per person. They want to support the LR business community at this challenging time.

Once you have paid your fee, I will email you with further information. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

This article puts it so well.
I've been encouraging businesses to do this during lockdown too. Have a read and get in touch if you have any questions.

OPINION: One of the biggest challenges for society when we isolate, is our connection - our interaction with other humans.

Feeling for your friends in small business right now?
Here's a way you can support them and help grow their business without stepping outside of your bubble.
This really does make a difference and is so easy to do πŸ‘
Don't underestimate the power of positive online engagement.
Share if you agree. Thanks πŸ˜‰

I don't know about you but I'm finding it hard to know what to do next for my small business πŸ€”
It can be really hard to plan or make decisions when there is so much uncertainty.
Firstly, if you are taking it day by day and showing up, well done, you're doing amazing . These are tough times.
Secondly, I've put together a wee list of things you can be doing on social media that may be helpful for you. Especially if you are like me and not sure what you need to be doing next.
1. Check in with your people. If the customer or client were right in front of you, you would ask them how they are doing? Social media is just another type of communication and these are your people, write a post and check in with them πŸ“©
2. Let them know what you are doing during lockdown? You have friends and customers who are thinking about you, care about what you do and are hoping you are doing ok. Keep sharing the wins, even if it's just that you got on top of the paperwork today πŸ‘
3. Follow online and support other small businesses in your area/ field. Comment or like posts, it really does help.
And remember to be 'you'. Connection is the goal right now not perfectly curated pictures and posts. Let go of the 'its not good enough' feeling.
You'll be amazed at how reaching out can make a difference over time.
So 'how are YOU doing'? Let me know if you have any questions or DM me. I would love to know how you are doing.
Kia Kaha team.
Regards Lyn
