People start businesses for all different reasons. Some good, some bad.
Often it is so they can take control of their lives and be in charge of when they work, where they work and what kind of work they end up doing.
Often they donāt find this Utopia. Theyāre not sitting sipping cocktails sending a few casual emails while they work on their tan and the money rolls in. Theyāre often tied to their desk working tirelessly for little money on tasks that were not a part of the plan.
Yes, some get it right. But it isnāt as easy as they may have you believe. But, if you have a purpose behind why you started your business, then when times get tough it is that much easier to pick yourself up and carry on as you know WHY you are doing this.
Here is a bit about why I ended up here.
I was contracting for companies as well as other agencies and was tired of seeing so many campaigns being rolled out where they hadnāt spent the time thinking about who they were talking to and why. Because of this they often werenāt creating content that talked to their target audience.
This frustrated the heck out of me! So I decided that I wanted all businesses I worked with, big or small, to have a first class marketing strategy driving all their marketing decisions. That way all these marketing decisions would be that much easier and their marketing efforts that much more effective.
Thatās where we start with all our clients. No campaign gets off the ground without a strong marketing strategy in place.
Tell me below why you started your business and let me know if youāve nailed the work, life, income, tan line (no, Iām from NZ, we know not to sunbathe) balance!
