Next up on the local spotlight is the well-known functional art creator Vickie, from Vickies Originals Nelson.
She was on an older Shopify theme that had done its job, but it was time for an upgrade. I moved her to a modern theme and gave the whole store a fresh look, cleaner, faster, and a lot easier to shop.
If your Shopify store is starting to look a little tired, a theme upgrade might be all it needs. No rebuild from scratch, just a proper refresh done well.

First up in the local spotlight, Aspect Builders.
If you're in Nelson, you've seen the Aspect Builders vehicles around town.
Grant and Darren build high-end homes here in Nelson Tasman. Grant's been at it for over 25 years.
I just finished their new website. Good project to work on, when the builds are this strong, the job is really just to present them well and let the work do the talking.

With everything going on right now; wars, rising costs, the general noise, it feels like a good time to zoom back in.
We're pretty lucky to live and work in Nelson Tasman. There's a huge amount of solid, locally-owned businesses here doing great things, they just don't always get the spotlight they deserve.
Over the coming weeks, I'm going to be showcasing some of the local clients I've worked with over the years. Businesses that have put real effort into showing up properly online and standing out in an increasingly cluttered digital space.
No fluff, just good local work, done well.

Must say I'm thrilled to win another gold award at this year's Pride in Print awards held in Christchurch. I worked alongside the team at 3Bee Mānuka Honey & Natural Skincare to bring home the best packaging design for the Monofloral Mānuka Honey 500g honey label.

I've been working alongside the new owners of Aquafresh Products Limited on the launch of their new logo. We both wanted a fresh, clean look with a touch of Kiwiana. All parties we more than pleased with the final outcome shown here. Design District is looking forward to putting the final touches on the launch of their new e-commerce site coming soon.
