Last week the team was at Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre delivering the annual conference for ILANZ – In-House Lawyers Association of New Zealand — a long-standing client of OnCue for many years.

With 400+ delegates attending, the programme included two days of conference sessions at Tākina, a social event at New Zealand Parliament Buildings, and a glitzy Gala Dinner & Awards evening back at Tākina.

A fantastic few days bringing together the in-house legal community from across Aotearoa, and a huge thanks to everyone involved in making the event such a success.

Next stop for ILANZ: Ōtepoti / Dunedin in 2027!

🎪 Two conferences, two cities, and one team pulling off a spectacular end-of-year double act!

While most people wind down for the year, the OnCue team apparently decided the best way to finish 2025 was to be in two places at once. (Fortunately, that’s something we’re rather good at.)

Last week the OnCue crew split in two...

📍 Christchurch – a bumper 450+ joint NZ and Australia freshwater sciences conference
Shelley, Nicki, and Lea were at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre welcoming 400+ delegates for four days of freshwater immersion: including a day of field trips, and a spectacular circus-themed dinner worthy of centre stage!

📍 Meanwhile in Hamilton – another bumper co-joined conference for the Hydrological Society in conjunction with Metrological Society of NZ
Tracy, Han, and Hannah headed north to Claudelands Events Centre, where over 150 presentations flowed (pun intended!) across hydrology and meteorology. From a wonderful wizarding time at a Middle-earth themed dinner in the Hamilton Gardens to field trips around the Waikato, this event was a perfect reminder that science conferences can be both rigorous and scenic.

Two conferences, hundreds of speakers, thousands of tiny details—seamlessly delivered.

A big thank you to our incredible clients, the delegates, and our OnCue team for making a “logistical double-act” look surprisingly easy.

Here's to the final curtain call of 2025—and the anticipation of more great conferences to come in the new year!

| Planting a Seed, Growing a Legacy

Six years ago, the OnCue team first sat down with NZ Arb and Tourism New Zealand to explore support for a bold idea — bringing the International Society of Arboriculture Annual International Conference to Aotearoa for the very first time.

Fast forward to last week, when Ōtautahi Christchurch welcomed 886 delegates from around the world for ISA 2025 and the International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC) — an incredible celebration of arboriculture, innovation, and global connection. 🌏

OnCue has had the privilege of working with multiple clients across the arboriculture community over the years — including NZARB - New Zealand Arboricultural Association Inc., Arboriculture Australia Ltd , and the International Society of Arboriculture — supporting events, projects and association administration at different stages along the way.

For this milestone event, we were thrilled to partner with both NZ Arb and ISA, supporting the delivery of specialised conference and ITCC components, and seeing the vision we helped seed six years ago come to life!

It was a huge week for Lea, Nicki and Shelly, who joined delegates, climbers, and colleagues from across the globe to celebrate this world-class event — reconnecting with our arboriculture friends and clients, and seeing firsthand the legacy it leaves for both the industry and New Zealand’s visitor economy.

Congratulations to the NZ Arb and ISA teams on a truly unbe-leaf-able event!

Our native environment at OnCue is usually behind things ...registration desks ...run sheets ...great conferences. On this occasion however Nicki and Shelley found themselves in front of the camera ...as test subjects for the ministerial photo!

It's been a busy week! Hannah & Shelley are in Wellington, to start the week we visited a range of venues around the city, finding the perfect options for our clients conference in 2026, we were hosted by WellingtonNZ - thanks team, so many options to choose from!

Then we headed into the NZ Association of Economists conference at Victoria University for the rest of the week. 250 delegates, 3 days, 8 concurrent session streams. Thanks Canapé Company for keeping us beautifully fed!
