Michelle Williams and I are trying to fit 12km a day in each for 12 days in support of Project Island Song, which does the most awesome job of bringing the Bay of Islands back to life, and keeping it that way. We attended a fantastic Health and Safety Workshop with Sheree from Thrive-Health, Safety & Wellbeing! Sheree made the 4 hours fly past and we came away a lot wiser. You might think we don't need H&S for marketing - but we manage all the Ambassadors down at the cruise ships, as well as still do a few events, and of course then there are clients who we work with and H&S is an integral part of their business. We have 3 more workshops with Sheree - which we are looking forward to.😍 Who knew Health and Safety could actually be an fun topic!! It was also great as was in a meeting room Biz Space - which made it super easy to get to! 🤣

We are so thrilled to be part of this project, it has been 3 years in the making with many volunteer hours for this to come to fruition.. Looking forward to a safer community and giving businesses in our region the confidence to grow as well as new businesses buy into our community.. Awesome to work alongside other business associations to make this work.

Thanks to funding from the Te Tai Tokerau Impact Fund, we’re kicking off a groundbreaking regional project focused on CCTV and community safety.

This is a united effort to build safer, stronger communities — and it's happening right here in the Mid and Far North.

This project will map existing infrastructure, identify the gaps, and deliver a strategic, region-wide plan that supports long-term safety and economic resilience for our local businesses.

This isn’t just about cameras – it’s about protecting the nearly 4,000 local businesses in our region, restoring public confidence, and showing the power of collaboration.

We’re proud to be leading this coordinated mahi that puts community safety and business strength front and centre.

A productive morning yesterday attending a meeting with Sarah Curtis on behalf of the Kerikeri District Business Association at council chambers in Kaikohe with our other Business Associations in the Far North. Lots of good things came out of it and we are looking forward to some positive collaborations.

This morning, Sarah (KKDBA Chair) & Anika (KKDBA executive member) had the pleasure of attending a meeting at council chambers in Kaikohe with our other Business Associations in the Far North.

Collaboration is a key element of KKDBA, having this meeting with a wider Far North lens was a great way to ensure we are all supporting each other with the issues in which we can work together & provide a voice for the Far North as a whole.

Thanks to & Guy (FNDC CEO) for taking the time to meet & hear our feedback.
