Introducing Matt Brown....

Co-founder, technical engineer and residential artist, Matt enjoys revamping spaces in Space and is our go to person for anything audio technical including managing the sound system for events held at Space.

Matt will be coming into the project as a mentor in music production, video and visual media. He has tutored engineering level 1 subjects and music production. Matt was also the sound, lighting and visual technician at Studio the Venue.

Matt continues to play a big part in supporting the creative arts industry. He has successfully delivered multiple creative projects all over New Zealand, from stage design to theatre shows, to large multi-zoned events to music video projects.

In his journery of discovering a variety of creative outlets, Matt found the opportunity to really embody his creative truth by following the creative pull.

This was my first music video project, 3 Music Videos, 2nd and 3rd tracks are Tracks That I've borrowed (L.X.One - No Good For Me/ HP.Ritch, Kid Kun - Chrome / Thing - Mars Dub). Music Video behind the scenes - Havin a Winge' (LX-One - Not Good For Me_ Remix) : SAE project

For my SAE Level 6 project I covered the cultural context of The Zulu Nation with Afrika Bambaataa, and The Native Tounges surrounding that era of Hip-Hop, before the era of Gangster Hip-Hop and commercial Hip-Hop.

I wanted to showcase movement and flow in a music video, to give kids something they can aspire to through dedication and expression, and not through other means. In this way, dance and music can be used to heal, the same way Bambaataa used 'Planet Rock' to birth a whole breakdance movement.
