Miss Nicky Says encourages tamariki to learn who they are with new project ‘Pepeha’

Award-winning children’s artist, Miss Nicky Says, is helping tamariki across Aotearoa and beyond to learn more about their whakapapa and tūrangawaewae, with the full release of her latest kaupapa, ‘Pepeha’ during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.

Created to help tamariki build confidence in learning and sharing their pepeha, the project explores te reo Māori through waiata and visual storytelling, giving young people the tools to engage in and begin discovering their connection to whānau and whenua.

Brick Antics based on the Kapiti Coast can recreate this experience for awesome birthday parties for children and adults aged 5-100 anywhere in the greater Wellington area (or lower North Island by arrangement). A trained, experienced educator and enthusiastic LEGO fan, the host will keep everyone (young and old!) thoroughly entertained through building challenges and games specifically designed for the various age groups and interests. All bookings include prizes and a gift for the birthday person as well as setup and clean-up in your home/ venue of your choice. Originally starting quietly in 2019 and with a LOT of parties (and other events) now under their belt they are looking to continue with more of this in 2026. Schools given chance to perform alongside Stan Walker through new ‘Family Tree’ challenge

Stan Walker (Tūhoe, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Pūkenga, Tūhourangi, Ngāti Wāhiao, Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Whakaue and Ngāi Tahu) is inviting kura from across Aotearoa to bring his new waiata, ‘Family Tree’ to life - with two schools set to win the ultimate opportunity to perform live alongside one of the country’s biggest stars. ‍‍ ‍

Kura have been challenged to create their own rendition of the track ‘Family Tree’ from Disney’s Moana: Voices Across the Ocean and upload their performance to social media for the chance to win.
