For Samoa language week we wanted to share this beautiful explanation of the weaving process. In our social marketing and behaviour change practice we use the concept of weaving/ lalaga/ raranga to express how we co-create strategy and creative solutions with stakeholders and audiences. Making a beautiful mat is a process that takes craft, patience and skill.

It's people like Vai Harris - the co-founder of Vaiola P.I. Budgeting Service Trust and her amazing team that inspire us everyday. 🫶

They specialise in providing budgeting services and mentoring through a Pacific cultural framework delivered by a Pacific team with cultural competency and language skills. They also specialise in working with families who are in mortgagee sale situations - and they are so good at it - they are inundated with referrals. 📲

Our pacific providers are at the coalface serving our communities and that's why we continue to serve NGOs and our community leaders. They hold the precious insights and narratives that spark 💥inspiration for authentic storytelling and they also know what works. 💯

For example - we heard today about how they deconstruct financial education resources to create bite size information in simple language to communicate important budgeting tips to their client base. They also emphasised the importance of visuals and activities to unpack budgeting concepts and ideas. 🧐... and they do all of this with little to no budget because they care about the families they serve.

There's loads of great work going on at Vaiola PI Budgeting services and we were honoured to have a window into their world today.♥️

These are some of the amazing Pacific producers at the top of their game. We love that NZ On Air and cooperation broadcast have invested in such an important project to build capability and collaboration in the Pacific region!

For the first time 11 NZ-based Pasifika producers have been paired with 10 Pacific-based broadcasters for the Aotearoa New Zealand Pacific Regional Media Fund
