Leaning into the whimsy, the boredom, the big ideas, and the “wait… maybe I really can do this” moments ✨

Winter has officially become my creation season - the time where things slow down just enough for new ideas to sneak in.

A few little updates from my art world:

1️⃣I’ll be back exhibiting at the Wanaka Mountain Film Festival this June, which means you’ll be able to see my work in person, touch the textures with your eyes, and maybe take a piece home with you.

2️⃣I’m also still deep in learning mode — business, money, project management, all the behind-the-scenes things that help me keep growing as an artist and make this dream more sustainable.

3️⃣And later this year… I’m hoping to organize an exhibition with other local artists, which feels equal parts exciting and wildly ambitious in the best way.

Thank you for being here while I figure it all out, create new work, chase the big ideas, and keep building this little art life of mine.

“You don’t need to be perfect, just consistent.”

I know… it’s probably one of the most overused and annoying things to hear online. 😅
But honestly? If you can figure out how to make consistency work for you instead of against you, it genuinely can change your life.

Not overnight.
Not in some dramatic movie-montage way.

But slowly, your confidence grows.
Your skills improve.
People start recognizing your work.
Opportunities start finding you.

Most artists aren’t failing because they aren’t talented enough.
They stop before momentum has time to build.

One painting. One post. One small step at a time.
Keep showing up for your art. Someone out there is waiting to connect with exactly what you create. ⛰️✨

I’m looking for my fellow mountain lovers ⛰️✨

The ones who know a mountain is never just a mountain.
It’s the sunrise starts, the type 2 fun, the people you shared it with, the lessons learned, the dream lines still waiting to be climbed.

Every piece I create is inspired by real places and built with texture, metallic detail, and hand drawn elevation lines to capture the feeling of being there.

Some lessons come with better views… and some come with black toenails 😅⛰️

Corner Peak taught me the hard way that the right shoes and socks can completely change your experience in the mountains.

What started as “she’ll be right” turned into a very long hike wishing I’d prepared better 😂

Now every time I draw these topo lines by hand, I remember the adventure behind them — the type-2 fun, the lessons, and why I love creating art inspired by real places and real experiences.

So if you’re heading out there soon: 🥾 Wear the proper shoes

🧦 Don’t underestimate good socks
🏔️ And take a moment to look around when you make it to the top

The mountains always teach you something.
