Time and time again I see businesses make these 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 with their digital marketing:

Wow, look what popped up in my Facebook memories today! Twelve years ago, I took the leap from paid employment to work for myself (under the illusion that I would become a lady of leisure 😂). Flair Marketing officially launched, and I was fortunate to secure a couple of clients right away—some of whom I’m still working with!

What I didn’t anticipate was the major restructure in Darren’s role a few months later. Faced with the choice to upend our lives or find another job, we decided he would start Flair Consulting for business consulting and in 2013 we opened Flair Space coworking. Darren discovered his passion for business coaching, which led us to add McGarvie Business Coaching to our offerings. In 2015, we consolidated all our brands under Firestation.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved—12 years with no other source of income than what we generate through our business.

But it hasn’t always been easy. I am risk-averse, and navigating business while raising young children, working alongside your partner, and dealing with challenges like COVID-19 and the current cost of living crisis has been tough.

So who knows what the next 12 years will bring? Today, I’m taking a moment to reflect on and be grateful for all that we have accomplished.

Here’s to many more years of growth, learning, and adventure! What are you grateful for today?

BREAKING NEWS - Google backflips on depreciating third party cookies!

This Google project has been ongoing since 2020 and has had many delays in going live (including intense scrutiny from UK’s Competition and Markets Authority).

Google is planning to keep third-party cookies in its Chrome browser, it said on Monday, after years of pledging to phase out the tiny packets of code meant to track users on the internet.

Adobe is being sued by US regulators about their hard to cancel subscriptions. It will be interesting to see what happens in this case!

The Federal Trade Commission is accusing the software company of violating consumer protection laws.
