LITTLE SUN

Nearly 1.6 billion people worldwide including thousands of families in the Pacific Region have no access to electric light. Light allows people to work, study, cook and socialize after nightfall. When light is easily available, people have safer and healthier lives with more opportunities.

The good news is that artist Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederik Ottesen developed Little Sun, a high-quality, solar powered LED lamp in the shape of a sun and a social business focused on getting clean, reliable, affordable light to people who need it. Every Little Sun sold makes a difference. Buying a Little Sun at the regular price makes it possible for Little Suns to be sold in off-grid areas at much lower prices.

With the help of our partners, donors and individual fundraisers, we can spread a little bit of Kiwi sunshine around the world. Our principal aim is to create a specific project which helps build a movement in support of off-grid communities in the Pacific Region.
