Talking about your book shouldn’t feel awkward… but for many authors, it does.

If you’ve ever thought: “I don’t want to sound salesy”, you’re not alone.

Try this instead:

✔ Think of marketing as sharing, not selling
✔ Keep your book description simple and natural
✔ Practise talking about it in your own words

You don’t need a perfect pitch — just a clear, honest way to talk about what you’ve created.
People aren’t waiting to judge you. They’re waiting to discover your book.

We were delighted to work with Alice Fairley to bring her beautiful book Yellow Flower to print — and it’s now available for readers to enjoy.

It’s 1855 and George Hollings is fleeing London—and the lover who nearly ruined him—to begin again in New Zealand. But when his past resurfaces with a threat that could destroy his fragile new life, George is forced to run once more. Joining an expedition to a remote island rumoured to hold waters of eternal youth, he discovers something far more valuable than gold: belonging, acceptance, and an unexpected love. As tensions rise, George must decide where he truly belongs.

Yellow Flower is a heartfelt story about resilience, growth, and finding hope in unexpected places. Through thoughtful storytelling and vivid imagery, the book explores the journey of facing life’s challenges and discovering the quiet strength that helps us bloom again — even in difficult seasons.
