I was invited to my pōtiki kura today to join their kapa haka practice😁

I sat at the back and watched them practice their waiata and poi while learning myself with reading the kupu on the screen and singing along🥰

Then our Tumuaki asked the 40 odd tamariki to turn and face me, then she started playing Toia on the guitar 🎸

So here I am with 40 odd little faces staring at me with a big smile doing Toia kapa haka with me… 😭

DO YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND HOW HARD IT WAS FOR ME TO FOCUS AND NOT CRY🥹

It was so beautiful, felt so lucky to be in a room with all that mana. Our little pōtiki was so happy and proud of his māmā just as I was proud of all of them🖤❤️🤍

P.s Arohamai for the angle, was important that I didn’t capture any faces but my own 🤗

I’m having an extra early night tonight as it’s been a massive weekend and I’m drained! 😴

It felt so good going back to the marae for the working bee this morning. Having my tāne and our tamariki join me just felt perfect and to top it off we did Toia🥲

Honestly, I just want to relive today again for the very first time🥹

Was incredible watching Ngāti Toa Rangatira but also Pukeatua watching my beautiful aunty Ayla, man I tangi most of the day🥲
