A consensus emerged that voting should be made more accessible, however the jury is split on the issue of automatic residency for high net worths. Buzzy.

Buzzy beta is out now!

Buzzy has been redeployed at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington for Trimester 1 2026, this time in collaboration with VUWSA - Victoria University of Wellington Students' Association.

This means that the VUWSA team (President Aidan Donoghue pictured below) will be able to track student proposals and publish their own surveys through the app to better understand student opinion.

This is the first time that Buzzy will be deployed with an eye towards shaping real-life decisions, meaning we’re one step closer to bringing virtual democracy to New Zealand.

With 2025 coming to close, it’s time to wrap up our findings from the Vic Uni pilot as we look ahead to a full public release of Buzzy in Autumn 2026.

Over the course of Trimester 2, students generated a wide range of in-app Proposals culminating in 20 referendum-style Topics being voted on by the student community. Click the link in our bio to view the full list of results.
