Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested a group of women of Asian and African nationalities for violating public morals and foreigners residence law in Muscat.

In a statement ROP said: The Muscat Governorate Police Command, with the support of the Bausher Special Tasks Police Unit, arrested a group of women of Asian and African nationalities for carrying out acts contrary to morals and public morals and violating the foreigners’ residency law, and legal procedures were completed against them.

Muscat: His Excellency Salim bin Ali bin Salim Al Hakmani, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority, issued Resolution No. 756 of 2023 banning the circulation of electronic ci******es, sh**ha, and their accessories.

Based on the Consumer Protection Law issued by Royal Decree No. 66/2014, and Resolution No. 698/2015 regarding the ban on the circulation of electronic ci******es and sh**ha, and the executive regulations of the Consumer Protection Law issued by Resolution No. 77/2017 and based on what the public interest requires.

Article one

It is prohibited to trade electronic ci******es, sh**has, ​​or their accessories.

Article second

Without prejudice to the penal penalties stipulated in the aforementioned Consumer Protection Law, an administrative fine not exceeding (1,000) one thousand Omani Riyals shall be imposed on anyone who violates the provisions of this decision, and the fine shall be doubled in the event of a repeat violation. If this violation continues, an administrative fine of (50) fifty Omani riyals will be imposed for each day that the violation continues, provided that its total does not exceed (2000) two thousand Omani riyals. The seized quantities of electronic ci******es, sh**has, ​​and their accessories are destroyed in accordance with the controls in force at the Consumer Protection Authority.

Article Three

The aforementioned Resolution No. 698/2015 is repealed, as is everything that contravenes this resolution or conflicts with its provisions.

Article Four:

This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and shall be effective from the day following the date of its publication.

Muscat: Sixty-six expatriate workers were arrested for violating the Labour law in the Wilayat of Barka in the South Al Batinah Governorate, according to the Ministry of Labour (MoL)
